Healthy Food Matters
We know that children are most ready to learn, play, and grow when they are well nourished. Part of being a healthy child care center is creating nutritious childhood eating habits for a lifetime of good health.
Studies have shown that organic milk (free from hormones such as Cargeneen, GMOs, and antibiotics) is a great choice for growing bodies. Bright & Early serves organic milk with lunch and with at least one snack per day. Bright & Early is mindful to serve whole foods instead of processed foods, whole grains, and ‘no sugar added’ choices. With good food for fuel, our children are ready for a full day of fun and play. Bright & Early works with our Nutrition Consultant, Dr. Jenn Krebs Rapkin, to create and assess our healthy snack menus that are healthy and tasty.
Mealtime is also a valuable opportunity for children to speak with their friends, practice self-help skills, and make healthy choices. Teachers encourage subjects of conversation and role-model interactive behaviors.
